Day 7 Subject: And finally, [firstname]… Hey [firstname]! Wow! We've covered quite a lot of ground over the past week or so. Let's just recap what we've discussed: We defined what podcasting is. We talked about deciding what your podcasts will be about, the importance of defining your niche, and why you should research each topic carefully – you need to at least SOUND like you know what you're talking about! We discussed why you should decide what you want your podcast to achieve. Do you want to get traffic to your website/blog? Establish yourself as a niche expert? Piggyback off other people's expertise? Or some other reason? We talked about how often you should publish your podcasts. We delved into some of the technical stuff you need to know. We discussed why preparation is crucial, and I suggested you work from an outline to give your podcast structure. We talked about how, in the early days, it's a good idea to get some people you trust to listen to your podcasts before you release them and give you some feedback, and that it's perfectly fine to do a retake or re-edit. We covered some of the ways you can get the word out about your podcast. A couple of final points… When you've uploaded your podcast to Amazon S3, be sure to make the bucket and the link “public”. That way everything will be easily shareable. Also, bear in mind that successful podcasting is a marathon not a sprint. It will take a while to build up a following, so don't get discouraged if you don't have very many listeners to begin with. In this short e-course I've only been able to scratch the surface of what's necessary to become a successful podcaster. I go into much more detail in my podcasting success guide. I've still got a few copies left, but they're going fast. Grab your copy RIGHT NOW from [link to sales page]. To your success! [Your Name]
