Day 6 Subject: Time to get the word out, [firstname] Hi [firstname], You might have the best, most interesting and entertaining podcast in the world, but if nobody knows about it, it's not going to do you any good. So today I want to talk you through some ways you can publicize your podcasts. Probably the best way is via social media. You should always let your Facebook followers know about forthcoming podcasts. Include a link to each podcast on your Facebook page and encourage people to “like” and share it. The same goes for Twitter. Use bit.ly or tiny url to shorten the download link. If enough people retweet it, you can spread the word far and wide. Your website/blog is also a great place to let people know about your podcasts. If you get each podcast transcribed, you can turn them into blog posts. This can help with SEO. You can also have a downloadable PDF of your transcription, and reach a whole new audience. Be sure to include a link to your website or blog, and encourage people to pass it on. Don't neglect your mailing/subscriber list! Set up your blog so that subscribers automatically get notified each time you make a posting, and encourage people to sign up. If you have a WordPress blog, this is quite simple to do. Likewise, sending an e-mail to your mailing list is a very efficient notification method. Most autoresponder services will allow you to put a clickable link in your e-mails. Finally, you should get listed in as many podcast directories as possible. Most of them group podcasts by subject, and others specialize in specific topics, so shop around and find the sites that best suit your niche. People visit these sites actively looking for podcasts to listen to, so you can pick up lots of new followers with just a few clicks. Warmly, [Your Name] PS.
