Day 4 NOTE TO END USER: THERE ARE AFFILIATE LINKS IN THIS E-MAIL Subject: Time to establish your web presence, [firstname] Hi [firstname], I hope you've been able to put some thought into what type of online business you want to establish, and what niche you want to sell to. Whatever model and niche you choose to follow, there are some things that all online businesses need. The first is a domain name. That's the name your customers will enter into their web browsers to get to your website. Getting the domain name right is very important. A domain name should be relevant to your business and what it does or sells. Be specific here. Something generic like: mywebsite.com doesn't tell a potential customer much. Something like whatyourcompanysells.com, what-your-company-does.com or yourcomapnyname.com is a much better bet. Including the keywords that potential customers are likely to be using when searching for your product or service can be beneficial, too. You should always choose a top-level domain whenever possible - .com is best as it's not country specific and will allow you to trade internationally with ease. If you ARE going after a local clientele, then a country specific domain (like .co.uk, .com.au, or .ca) is fine. The process of registering domain names is a complicated one, so it you should go with a reputable registrar. The one I recommend is GoDaddy [YOUR GODADDY AFFILIATE LINK HERE]. They're the biggest registrar on the 'net and have been around for a long time. You should also make sure your domain name fits in with your brand. I'll explain more about this tomorrow. Once you've got your domain name sorted out, you'll need a hosting company to host your website. Again, it's best to go with a reputable provider, and one that has a good track record for reliability. Bear in mind: When your website's down, you're not making any money. One of the most reliable hosting companies out there is Hostgator [YOUR HOSTGATOR AFFILIATE LINK HERE]. They have a 99.9% uptime guarantee, and their prices are very reasonable.
